Bibliographic Description: Materials
The binding is made of blue-painted cloth. It is slightly frayed, especially at the corners and at the top and bottom of the spine. It is also discolored in places. Aside from these signs of wear, it has held up well.

Between the title and the author’s last name is a smaller version of the same stylized trumpet that is on the front cover.

The endpapers are plain, cream paper of the same material and color as the paper in the rest of the book. There is no design or text on either the front or back endpapers.
The paper is slightly rough but not brittle. Aside from some discoloration, it has held up well over time. The ink is still quite clear and readable.
The three multicolor illustrations are printed on a different quality paper, smoother and slightly thinner. All but one (facing p. 30) are also discolored, but the colors still hold much of their original vibrance.
